Gestational Diabetes (GDM) / Pregnancy Induced Diabetes

GDM onsets during pregnancy and does not include diabetics who become pregnant. Complications of untreated GDM can be serious and include preeclampsia in the mother and developmental problems, respiratory distress syndrome, and excessive growth of the baby. Early diagnosis and ongoing treatment is important for a good outcome. Failure by a medical provider to diagnose and/or treat GDM may be medical malpractice.
