  • Vehicular factors were also responsible for some crashes. The most common vehicular factor was defective brakes, cited as the cause of the crash 503 times.
  • Environmental factors were also listed as the cause of the crash in numerous accidents. The most common environmental factor was slippery pavement, which was responsible for 2,223 accidents.
